Chinese Ethnobotany: Review and Outlook

Abstract:This paper discusses and discusses the development history, research
progress and future development trend of Chinese ethnobotanics. Ethnobotany started late in China, but in the past two decades, it has built a theoretical framework, content, methods and approaches for ethnobotanical research, and based on basic descriptive research (investigation) , documenting, cataloging), advancing to applied research, and making some progress in the sustainable use of plant resources, biodiversity conservation, rural development, and mountain poverty alleviation. At present, China s ethnobotanical research faces new opportunities and new challenges for development. It must face the new situation of national economic development, invest in the development of the western region, strengthen discipline construction, promote the combination of research and industrial development, and make full use of the disciplines in the western region. Resource advantages, talent intelligence and capital advantages in the eastern region, promote ethnobotanism from regional research to
national research, further improve the ethnobotanical research system with Chinese characteristics, actively participate in international cooperation and exchanges, and Sustainable development, unity and stability in ethnic areas and biodiversity conservation make a greater contribution.
